Carolyn Lacek, has been doing ministry along side of her husband during the entire course of their marriage of nearly 30 years. They were youth leaders together in the late eighties at Faith Community, and elders together before Pastor Dave was on staff in Pleasant Hills at New Wine Harvest. She began to do pastel paintings during worship in church services at this time. Since then, her ability to capture visions from God and illustrate them in picture and words has grown. She has been a guest speaker and easel artist at retreats, women’s meetings, and the regional Jubilee Celebration. She presently is in her 5th year of holding art classes for homeschoolers and has held afterschool art class programs as well. She is the author of the book “Destiny Awakened,” which is a spiritual allegory based on the Sleeping Beauty story. She also illustrated this book and two other children’s books for local authors and is a writer and cartoonist for Jubilee News.

OUR HISTORY

In His Presence Church was birthed out of the Laceks living room in 2011. It quickly outgrew the house. A nearby restaurant became the ministries home for the next year in which time Awaken Coffeehouse was born. However the coffeehouse was also quickly outgrown, so a new space was found in nearby Hillcrest Shopping Center. With more space the ministry could become involved in outreach ministries such as Operation Christmas Child and Go Time Ministries Medical Missions team to Peru. When an opportunity came open in the fall of 2015, to be able to move the ministry into its own building, the Pastors and congregation eagerly accepted the offer.

Our new home is at 251 Brookwood Rd. in the Peters Township area. The new location has enabled us to expand our youth ministry and art program. In the spring of 2016, the Church began its first church plant in Lima, Peru. The newly formed church in Lima is located in the regions poorest community is an active and growing congregation, which is touching lives with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
